Consequence of the Metal-Atom Clustering on the Magnetic Properties in Vanadium Sulfide V5S8
On the basis of qualitative bonding considerations and tight-binding electronic band structure calculations, we examined how the unequal spin moment distribution is related to the metal-atom clustering in V5S8 and why V5S8 exhibits both localized and itinerant magnetic properties.
