ChemInform Abstract: Reaction of α-Nitroacrylates with Acetylacetone

α‐Nitroacrylates (I) successfully react with acetylacetone in MeOH in the presence of MeONa to give addition products (III), which can undergo an intramolecular O‐alkylation accompanied with elimination of nitrous acid [→ (IV)].
