Potassium persulphate-cupric ion induced grafting of acrylonitrile to nylon 6 fibres

Polyamide 6‐acrylonitrile graft copolymers were prepared without formation of homopolymer by using an initiation system consisting of potassium persulphate, cupric ion and a surface active substance. The graft yield was determined in dependence on the concentration of cupric ion, persulphate and acr...

description Polyamide 6‐acrylonitrile graft copolymers were prepared without formation of homopolymer by using an initiation system consisting of potassium persulphate, cupric ion and a surface active substance. The graft yield was determined in dependence on the concentration of cupric ion, persulphate and acrylonitrile as well as time and temperature of polymerization. A mechanism of the grafting reaction is suggested.
