description Shaping an autonomous attitude by creating a situation in which students take the initiative in language development plays an important role in the glottodidactic process, as it prevents the motivation to learn a language from weakening. In this article, the author presents several exercises in the German word formation, which have a positive effect on the motivation of students to take autonomous actions. These exercises give up routine “step-by-step” management of the student’s actions in order to gain knowledge about a given topic and to teach them how to deal with problems on their own.
