description Kâr form is one of the most artistic forms of Turkish music that it has long tarannums and can be carried out makam and ryhthm transitions in it. Although many composers have composed kârs in the history of Turkish music, unfortunately most of these kârs have been forgotten. One of the most memorable kârs is şevkutarab kâr which it’s songtext belongs to Şeyh Gâlib and composition belongs to Selim III. Selim III. has made the maqam and ryhthm transitions in kâr. Şevkutarab kâr’s song-text is Persian. Countless compositions have been forgotten with the transfer of musical compositions of Turkish music ear to the ear for centuries. The unforgotten ones have undergone changes over the years. Şevkutarab kâr is one of the compositions that changed. There are copies of the kâr that do not correspond to each other. In these copies, the only common point is the misspelled parts of the lyrics in Persian. This is a result of a meşk system. In this study, the description of the kâr form, which is one of the important forms of Turkish music, and the form analyses of şevkutarab kâr are available. Finally, the analysis and corrections of the Persian song-text are included. Thanks to these corrections, şevkutarab kâr will be read more accurately.
