description The breakup of the former Yugoslavia opened up the question of the redistribution of common property, acquired from 1918 until its breakup. The procedure for resolving this issue is regulated by the Agreement on Succession Issues of the former SFRY, signed in Vienna on June 29, 2001, which, after ratification by all the signatory states, entered into force in 2004. One of the issues regulating the redistribution of common property relates to common archival material. These issues are regulated by Annex D of the said Agreement, and are carried out by the state archives of the signatory countries. The process of acquiring archival material preceded the creation of the List of Claims under Annex D of the Agreement on Succession Issues of the former SFRY. As it is visible from the Search List, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the process of succession, seeks original documentation and / or copies from several hundred funds located in the Archives of Yugoslavia, but also in some other locations. In particular, we highlight the material of military provenance and film material. The central part of the paper discusses the funds from the socialist period with the presentation of the materials it has taken over and how after the takeover with it it is handled in the Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The paper will be accompanied by a complete overview of funds from which archival material has been taken so far with accurate data on the number of acquired archives.
