description This paper entitled New Units of Measurement for Teacher’s Activity offers a new evaluation tool in order to adapt teaching strategies and behaviour in relation to children within the immediate reality of the classroom. The starting point for the elaboration of this evaluation tool is represented by several principles of art (i.e. music, drama, visual arts) which are also present in the field of psychopedagogy. In order to find solutions to optimize and streamline the teaching activity, this paper presents an empirical study conducted in a preparatory class. It involves expression of children’s level of understanding and assimilation of concepts after a mathematics or Romanian communication lesson, which is the perception of the classroom climate shaped by the way of communication and teacher’s relating to students through geometric shapes which are interpreted in the light of principles of art.The article ends with several conclusions regarding the relevance and effectiveness of the new measurements suggested for optimizing teaching.
