description The aim of the research is to analyze the pharmacist perceptions in regard to continuing professional development and the influencing factors. Methods of inquiry: analysis of theoretical literature, empirical research (survey in written form). According to Lithuanian law the administration of community pharmacy plays an important role in the establishment of the condition for continuing professional education. The real impact of the situation in workplace and the influence of pharmacy administration were not evaluated in Lithuania. The perceptions of Lithuanian pharmacists have revealed interesting tendencies. Results have showed the dubiety of respondents in regard to administration good will to establish conditions under which employee could attend pharmacist training courses. Nonetheless, one half of pharmacists identify the support from the authority in the field of continuing professional development and only quarter of respondents perceive the initiative from the administration. The results bring the suspicious of ambiguity in the pharmacy atmosphere dealing with postgraduate pharmacy training. For better understand of the problem the comprehensive qualitative research is necessary. The evaluation of various correlations has clarified the factors that influence perceptions of pharmacists. The environment in the individual pharmacies has been found to be friendlier for establishment of the condition in the field of continuing professional development. Performance period, relations with administration and satisfaction at working place influenced the better conditions to seek professional training. Similar results were discovered when the support from the authority in the field of continuing professional development and the initiative of the administration were analyzed. Unexpected finding was the positive influence into the initiative of administration which was connected with geographical locality of the pharmacy. In conclusions it might be claimed that positive pharmacy working environment has influence to the affirmative pharmacist perceptions on continuing professional development.
