Zusammenfassung: | Studies of applied foreign languages (AFLs) and specialised translation have one thing in common: they give considerable thought to the pedagogical approaches to be used to achieve specific objectives. In considering specialised translation as a natural component of the training on offer in departments of applied foreign languages, there is sometimes a tendency to assign it the same functions as pedagogical translation, so strong is the hold of the acquisition of specialised linguistic competence, particularly in comparative approaches. This article focuses on didactic content. It draws on more than fifteen years' teaching experience in the AFL programme to examine how an adapted didactisation of specialised translation could help to improve teaching effectiveness in a multilingual context. |
