description The state of being close to each other in various ways through marriage, adoption and other forms of relationship other than blood kinship is called kinship. The sense of kinship among Turks lives with the most lively relations today as it was in the past. These relations are extremely important in the solidity of the social structure of the Turks. Unity, solidarity, cooperation, tolerance and sharing of problems are related to these relations. Family ties are strengthened with the degree of development. Strong ties ensure the stability of kinship systematics. It is seen that this systematic continues in the social structure of the Turks. This situation has paved the way for a wide variety of kinship names in Turkish. Thus, many words expressing the degree of kinship have been added to the vocabulary of Turkish. For this reason, Turkish is very rich in terms of kinship words. In fact, it is one of the richest languages in the world. While more than one kinship name is met with one word in other languages, each kinship link is met with different words in Turkish. These are in the form of words derived in proportion to the proximity of family members to each other. These words have an ancient and deep-rooted history. It is possible to come across these words that meet the kinship names in various works written in different periods of the Turkish language, starting from the Orkhon Inscriptions. Most of them still survive in modern Turkish dialects with little changes. Studies on kinship names will not only contribute to linguistics research but will also contribute to the enlightenment of Turkish language history and Turkish cultural history. For this reason, kinship names are considered as important sources for both anthropologists, linguists and cultural historians in the scientific world. In this study, kinship names are limited and only in-laws relatives-centered words that indicate kinship through marriage are emphasized. First, information was given about the terms of kinship and in-law kindship, relatives' names were classified and examined by considering words based on in-law kinship. Evaluations were made of the names that gave an opinion about the origin of the words, and the historical forms of the words were shown. After showing the texts in which the names of relatives are witnessed, sample sentences about these words are included in order to understand these concepts. -centered words that indicate kinship through marriage are emphasized.
