Before adopting such practices in aquaculture industry, it is necessary to assess aquatic productivity and thus to help aquaculture operations especially in water quality monitoring and management and fish production. One of the major problems in modern aquaculture is outbreak of diseases and loss of crop due to poor water quality management. Maintaining conducive water quality and aquatic health is surely vital for successful and economically viable aquaculture operations. Such farming systems reduce the dependence on costly feeds and fertilizers and at the same time produce valuable fish and shellfish. The increased quantity and enhanced quality of fish produced by these practices can be a better option to withhold the nutritional security. The purpose to write this book is how to use the waters, wastewaters, liquid biowastes and soils unfit for agriculture to economically viable aquaculture practices; and putting the emphasis on, aquaculture posology, the science of quantification and administration of doses in aquatic health and aquaculture management. Broadly, aquaculture practices come across three types of problems each; in the context of water quality, and fin fish and shell fish diseases; floating, suspended and dissolved impurities in water; and preventive, curative and noncurative diseases in fin fish and shell fish. Keeping these views in the consideration, an attempt is made to write a book on, Aquatic Health and Aquaculture, which can be of immense help to the people working in this sector. Suggestions, improvements and amendments from users will be welcome.
