Lovejoy is an expert film, media, and cultural historian who focuses on governmental and institutional media cultures in transnational perspectives. Mari Pajala is editor of four volumes in Finnish and German. Pajala was previously Government of Finland/David and Nancy Speer Visiting Professor in Finnish Studies at the University of Minnesota and visiting research fellow at Utrecht University.
